Today I wanted to share a three day detox cleanse Ben and I tried a few weeks ago from a local juicer in San Diego.

Previously I’ve tried to jump on the 10 day “master cleanse” bandwagon, but I lasted only 4 hours (despite having purchased a billion lemons).  Instead, I prefer a juice cleanse where I get to eat a healthy dinner because I feel like I am still getting the nutrients I need to sustain my workouts and get me through the day (and don’t feel like I’m starving to death).  I also love to end the night (even when I am not on the cleanse) with my favorite detox tea, Kusmi, which helps makes me feel satisfied.

I like to use a yummy juice cleanse to either help kickstart my diet, shock my body, or just to simply rid myself of built-up toxins and give my digestive system a little break.

As we study for the bar exam, Ben and I have felt super stressed (as you can imagine) and we thought it was a good time to clear it all out (literally).

Ben, of course, lost more weight on the cleanse (don’t you just envy guys sometimes?), but I lost about 3 pounds.  If you have never done a cleanse before or don’t normally eat clean, then it will be a definite shock to your body and you’re likely to lose more.

But of course, I must add that I am not a doctor, nutritionist, specialist, or any other kind of expert… just your friendly online pal sharing her own personal experience.  If you have any medical conditions, are pregnant, are very active, or have any other general concerns, you should always consult your healthcare professional before beginning this (or any dietary) program.
