Today I thought I would post about my experience at NYFW and highlight a few SS14 trends seen on the runways.
As for a few trends, white was big hit on the runways (no shocker there because an all-white monochrome outfit has always been super chic). But this time very strong and prominent lines were clearly present giving the look a modern twist.
Did you ever think that one day it would be in style to look like you got dressed in the dark? Well, the day is upon us ladies… and I kind of love it. This mis-matched trend gives your look a cool-girl vibe like you’re not trying too hard (even though these pairings clearly take time and effort).
This winter I better do a few extra crunches everyday because crop tops are here to stay. However, the trend came in many different shapes on the runways from full-blown abs to peek-a-boo and all the way to pairing it over a dress for a modest take on the trend. Thank goodness because I don’t know if I am ready to put down my Christmas cookie(s).
Along with the sun, Spring / Summer 2014 will also bring back tropical prints. Last season it was all about florals reminiscent of Palm Springs… but this coming season’s take on the print seems to evoke more of a Hawaiian vibe.
As for my own personal experience, I don’t even know where to begin. I had such an incredible time at NYFW. Being my first time, I had no idea what to expect. Every day was a crazy whirlwind of non-stop running around from shows to meetings to parties (for which I am so thankful… not only to be invited, but being busy made it a little less hard to be away from my hubby).
My favorite shows were definitely Reem Acra and Kaufman Franco. I just kept wanting to pinch myself. I feel so happy and honored I got to go and sit in a room with fashion’s most beloved. And did I mention that I got to see Audriana Lima and Alessandra Ambrosio walk? I die (yes, I just said that).
Needless to say I loved every second of my experience. I wouldn’t be where I am without each and every one of you and for that I am truly thankful.
Thanks so much for reading my blog and following along. I greatly appreciate your support and hope you continue to visit my little slice on the internets.
