Tucson Getaway

The other weekend Ben and I were lucky enough to take a relaxing weekend getaway at the J.W Marriott Tucson Starr Pass Resort and Spa. Only about a two hour drive from Phoenix, it was nice to feel like we were getting out of town but lucky that this little slice of heaven is so close.

When we arrived at the resort I was simply in awe of this gorgeous desert property. I couldn't resist heading straight to the pool for a little R&R (they also even have a lazy river)! But I was all about the refreshing fruit platter and endless piña coladas (duh, haha)! Our cabana was the perfect haven from the sun as we lounged all afternoon.

As we stepped into our gorgeous suite I was in heaven! Between the dining room, living room and bedroom, we had more than enough space to unwind! And don't get me started on the bathtub (rose petals, chocolates and a sexy hunk-o-man (aka Ben) may have been involved)! We felt so refreshed and just like royalty (exactly what the doctor ordered ha).

The next day we grabbed a coffee at their resident Starbucks (yup, they have one on property) before heading to our relaxing massages. Talk about spoiled.

If you are heading to Tucson anytime soon, I highly recommend a stay at the J.W. Marriott Tucson Starr Pass Resort and Spa! We had such a blast.

And if you're wanting to do a bit exploring, I recommend heading downtown. Ben and I hit up the historic Congress Hotel for some yummy breakfast one morning (get the huevos rancheros) and then walk around for a bit!

If you're a coffee addict like Ben and I, grab another one at Luce Coffee! So good, and their decor was on-point!

For a little snack, we headed back for some ice cream at Hub Ice Cream Factory! Mmm!

The rest of the time we just hung out at the resort eating everything in sight, staying in bed late, lounging by the pool, roasting marshmallows by their "chiminea" on their patio while listening to a popular local band play, hiking around the property (spotting a few deer), and watching the sunset while enjoying a shot of tequila for their nightly tradition.

All in all, we had an amazing weekend and can't wait to come back to the resort for our next Tucson getaway.
