That magical time of year is nearly here… which means it’s time to start thinking about what to wear for your holiday family photos. And ok, I know it’s early but you have to set aside your inner Scrooge and think ahead so you are prepared when the holiday’s roll around this year.

Ben and I recently took our photos last week and we decided to go for a more casual and relaxed look and play off the season with the woodland setting in cozy and comfortable outfits.

When deciding what to wear you should first consider what type of photos you’d like and where you will be taking them. I personally like to have freedom of movement so we can play around, be silly and be ourselves so jeans are always a great choice. We also wanted to take them in the great outdoors this year so a sparkly number and heels would have been out of place. Thus, we went with jeans, boots, button-downs and sweaters… basically things I wasn’t afraid to get down-and-dirty in.

Also just a tip… If you’re planning on wearing multiple outfits like we have here, you should save the tightest for last so you don’t have any marks showing up on your beautiful photos. After all, if you are taking the time to get these done you want them to look their absolute best.

Speaking of having the best holiday cards, I also recommend ordering through Minted.
