I told you lace was having a moment in my closet. Here’s a darling stretch lace fit and flare dress by A.B.S. by Allen Schwartz that I love. I am a pretty big fan of fit and flares (sometimes called skater dresses… yup, as in ice skaters) because they accent your waist and the shape gives the illusion of long legs (not that I need any illusion there). I decided to play off this 50’s silhouette by adding a touch of retro in my high pony. I just love the classic 50’s though – and this dress was so reminiscent of Betty Draper for me that I had to just go with it and pay homage to one of my favorite TV characters (I will be sad to see the show go).
Another thing I wanted to point out from this outfit are my diamond studs. Not only were they ethically produced, but the company, Brilliant Earth, also donates five percent of its profits to charities that help African communities affected by conflict diamonds. It’s something that is important to me as it’s so sad to see a stone destroy the lives of millions and fund devastating civil wars. Remember that even small, everyday choices and contributions can make a big difference.
