As I mentioned a few weeks ago here, I will be featuring more from
my go to store, Chicwish. I seriously could not live without their
midi skirts, and they have the such an amazing selection. With such a wide and unique variety of different styles, you can’t go wrong.  So, I’ve included
a bunch of my favorite styles into the “Shop the Post” section at the end of
this post to help you find one that best suits you.

I love the baroque style I am wearing in this post.  It seems so whimsical and dreamy (so my style)… which got me thinking…

what’s your

chic wish

?  And yes, I am making a play on words off of their brand name.  But seriously, what is your style wish?

Some people might call me a little crazy, but I like to think of it as being creative.  While I was sitting here thinking about what to write in today’s post, I started wondering where the
name Chicwish came from.  Names are such a strange thing. Have you ever said
your own name so many times it begins to sound weird?  Well, that got me
thinking, if I got a “chic wish” what would I wish for?  I thought long and hard
about this (perhaps too hard), and came up with this:

I have always wished I could pull off the “model off duty” look.  That effortless, simple edge where you just look killer and sexy walking out the door in a plain white tee.  Maybe I am just secretly wishing I could be Kate Moss, but I’ve always felt like this was a style that wasn’t quite so “effortless” for me.

I have always naturally gravitated towards more whimsical girly outfits, as I am sure you have noticed.  I have said it before and I will say it again, but if I were to
define my style I would classify it as boldly feminine.  Even when I was in preschool I always chose a flirty skirt… and I think my style was definitely influenced by my insecurities growing up.  For instance, I’ve always been very tall (I am 5’11”), and part of me always
made sure I dressed very feminine to counteract my more masculine features,
like my height.  Also, when I was young I accidentally slept with gum in my mouth, which I of course got all over in my hair, so my mom had to cut my hair ‘like a boy.’  My sister playfully teased me endlessly, but I think this also had some influence on my style as a result of my insecurities.  Isn’t it crazy to think about all these little things that shaped who you are and your style?

Now, as a fashion blogger, I find that even today my personal
style shines through in my outfits even when I’m trying to pull off a different
look. This is good and bad at times. I obviously love who I am, and can
attribute a lot of what I am today based on my style, but that being said, sometimes it’s fun to try a completely different style on.  But while it can be
fun to play dress up and wear things that are very out of my style comfort zone,
it’s also nice to dress in something that just screams Caitlin!  I try to be
very true to who I am, and that is something I love about Chicwish; they stay
very true to themselves.  I know what kind of styles I can expect from them, and I know that they will be great quality.

So I want to know, What your “chic wish” would be?  If you got a style wish granted from a style genie, what would you wish for?
