As I mentioned, hiking is one of my absolute favorite things to do, so I love to take advantage while I am traveling and away from the Arizona summer heat… plus it’s a great way to explore and get to know the area.

A few weeks ago I went to Jackson Hole, Wyoming and aside from wandering the cute town, seeing Minions, eating Moo’s Ice Cream and playing a lot of frisbee and cards, I ended up going on a lot of hikes.  Many of my favorite hikes are in Grand Teton National Park – the mountain and lake views are all too stunning.

On this day we hiked the trail from North Jenny Lake towards the Hidden Falls Trailhead and caught the boat shuttle over to the South Jenny Lake (about 2 miles). You can actually loop around the entire lake if you wish and bypass the boat, depending on how long of a hike you are looking for.  There are so many different trails – you could spend all day here.  If you are in the area or thinking of heading there… be aware that an early start to your hike will help you avoid parking issues as the lots tend to fill up fast (usually by around 10am).  Also note that this is bear country and they are seen often – so take bear spray with you (and keep it easily accessible), just in case.

Anyway, even though it’s July, the temperatures can fluctuate very quickly going from sunshine to a rainstorm in minutes (as what happened to us)… so I chose to wear my overalls and boots with a plaid button down tied around my waist just in case I needed something warm.

Have you guys ever been to Jackson Hole? Stay tuned for more looks from our time there.
