If you follow me on Instagram (@caitlinclairexo), you may have seen that I have been in Park City for the past month.  Utah is so beautiful and you can’t beat the summer in the mountains, so I decided to escape the heat and trade in cacti for pine trees.

One of my favorite things to do in the mountains is to hike and explore.  There are so many great hiking trails in Utah but one of my favorites is the hike to Bloods Lake in Guardsman’s Pass.  This easy hike is short and sweet (only 1.2 miles total) and you hike out the same way in… but it’s beauty is unbeatable as you pass along meadows of wild flowers to get to this alpine lake.  The trail is only accessible in the summer and early fall and can get crowded these days (growing up here it was almost like a secret).  Apparently the secret is out so I recommend hiking on a weekday or early in the morning to find solitude.

This time we brought my parents dog, Keepa, and took a blanket and a picnic to relax by the lake while Keepa wet his appetite in the water.  FYI you have to hike downhill about 200 feet of elevation to the water, which is easy (and kids can do it), but just remember you have to hike back up (but it’s not hard at all).  So if you’re passing by and didn’t bring your hiking gear, don’t fret! You can do it!

Anyway, if you guys are visiting Utah or are local, definitely check out this beautiful hike.  PS, I last wore this look here (yes, I am a repeat offender and I just adore this easy summer look).
