One of the most frequently asked questions I get from you guys is what to wear to a wedding. Many weddings come with a dress code (don't go too short, don't go too flashy, don't wear white, etc). But regardless of these stipulations, dressing for a wedding can still be a struggle. What works for a backyard fete in the spring might not work for a summer church ceremony. Thus, many nights perusing the internet for ideas ensues. And I get it, I struggle with this every time an invite rolls around and pretty much stress about it until it's packed and in the bag haha. You want something beautiful, flattering and appropriate. So today I have partnered with David's Bridal to share some of my wedding guest attire tips and what I will be wearing to our next affair.
Lately we've had more and more 'black tie optional' invitations, and those can be confusing. Are sandals and a sundress appropriate? What about that neon frock you've been eyeing? I recommend erring on the side caution and wear a long dress and heels. It's always better to be overdressed than underdressed. But who wants to spend a fortune on an overpriced evening gown for a wedding that you may never get the chance to wear again until next year? You can find a great selection of affordable wedding guest dresses on David's Bridal. They are known for outstanding value on a variety of silhouettes and fashionable styles (most dresses are under $150)!
And another note: it used to be taboo to wear black to a wedding. But guess what, that's no loner the case (thank goodness)! Black is always timeless and elegant, and totally appropriate for your next evening affair. I love this dress I am wearing by Wonder by Jenny Packham. It has an elegant beaded neckline and I love how the satin sash defines your waistline.
I was so excited when I saw that Jenny Packham had teamed up with David's Bridal to launch an exclusive collection of Wonder by Jenny Packham dresses - from wedding dresses to wedding guest attire. It's so fun when designers team up with retailers to bring the runway trends to the stores. It makes your wedding wear so much more fashionable and affordable.
What do you guys think? What will you be wearing to your wedding events this year?
