Happy Valentine's Day, my darlings! I know some people rag on the Hallmark holiday, but I honestly love it. What girl doesn't love being showered with kisses, roses and / or chocolates and have a good excuse to get dressed up and wear pink?! I don't think many of us would raise our hands on that. I am such a sucker for romance, in all forms.

Last night, Ben brought me home a sweet giraffe stuffed animal and the sweetest little card and I literally immediately burst into tears. I mean, it may be the estrogen being pumped through my body haha, but it just meant so much to me. He is so sweet and thoughtful and it makes my heart just explode with love and joy. And that is what this holiday is all about.

So this Valentine's Day, I wanted to do something a little different by putting together a little mini styled photoshoot. I have never done anything like this really on Dash of Darling, so I thought it might be fun to get a bit creative.

I styled this Valentine's Day inspired look (I love a good pink maxi dress with romantic details), location scouted, asked the lovely Amy of The Local Stem for some gorgeous flowers and asked my best friend Kate to shoot me in the desert. And both Kate and Amy killed it, don't you think?! I am so lucky to have such talented and amazing friends who enjoy doing the same things as I do - getting creative and playing with our cameras in the middle of the desert (there was a dead rattlesnake not too far off from where we shot haha).
