On our weekends, Ben and I are all about finding fun adventures. So a few weeks ago in Arizona we decided to go horse riding at Fort McDowell Adventures with our friends from Visit Phoenix. Have you guys ever been? We had so much fun exploring the trails on the reservation and down across the cool Verde river.

Fort McDowell Ranch has so many fun adventures that are sure to provide an unforgettable experience - from horseback riding to kayaking to off-road tours.

I couldn't wait to hop on a horse as I grew up riding horses in my parents mountainous backyard in Park City and just love getting out on the trails whenever I can. Ben and I are both pretty experienced riders and we couldn't wait to get out on the trails. There is something so calming and enriching about spending some time out in nature on a beautiful creature. It was also fun feeling a sense of the wild west out in the middle of the gorgeous desert.

We chose to take an Uber out on this fun (and early morning) adventure just so we could really enjoy each others company on the ride out to the Fort. It's about an hour drive from our home (located past Fountain Hills right off of the Verde River) and it was nice just relaxing and not having to think about anything else other than requesting a ride. It's just undeniable how reliable and convenient Uber is and how the ride-request app is always right at your fingertips. And I love how you don't have to worry about awkwardly fussing with payment at the end since it's all just paid automatically through the app.

All in all, we had a pretty adventurous morning... even just on our way to our Arizona horse riding adventure haha. It's always fun and interesting getting to know your Uber driver-partner... he had some pretty hilarious stories to tell and great advice to give (like, don't forget your water when heading out into the desert on a horse ride like we had haha... thank goodness he had some for us).

But after picking his brain a bit about driving with Uber, it sounds like a pretty cool gig that allows you to set your own hours and meet lots of new people. In hindsight, I think it would have been a really great way for me to make friends in Arizona and get to know the city when we first moved here a few years ago haha. Shoulda Woulda Coulda.

Anyway, if you're heading out to Arizona anytime soon, I highly recommend ordering an Uber and heading over to Fort McDowell Adventures for an adventurous Arizona horse ride in the desert. We had so much fun and can't wait to go back and try out some of their other fun activities (like a fun kayaking tour).

We had so much fun and can't wait for our next adventure.
