Dash of Darling | How To Make Your Rental Feel Like Your Home

As you guys know, we sold our house last year when I was 37-weeks pregnant with Luna without any idea of where we would be moving while we built our new house closer to Ben's work. To say it was a last minute scramble to find a place to live before I went into labor would be an understatement haha. And don't even get me started on how much "nesting" I had to get done in the two weeks before Luna made her big debut. My feet have never hurt so bad in my life (pregnancy and moving do not mix well).

But since Luna's arrival there has been very little time left for anything else other than caring for, loving on and playing with this sweet girl. So making this rental feel like a home was put on the back burner. But regardless of the fact that this home isn't technically "ours," it's OUR HOME. The one we brought Luna home to. The one where we've watched her learn and grow for the past ten amazing months. The one we have made so many incredible memories.

And at the rate our home is being built (basically turtle steps), it's about time we make this house feel like our home. So I've finally starting hanging our favorite prints and photos (about time, am I right)?!

To be honest, it's looking like we won't be in our new house (the one we're building) until sometime late Spring. Insert major sad face haha. We bought the lot house last October (almost a year ago) and tore it down. We've run into a few issues here and there, as one does when building a house (am I right?) so it's slowed things down more than we'd like. We can't wait to finally be in our house, but in the meantime, I am happy making this rental feel like our home.

There's something about hanging things that makes it really feel like yours haha! What do you guys do to make your rental feel like home? Or, your home feel like, well, home?
