I don’t know about you, but this was one heck of a
long week. Even though I have been on
vacation, the days seemed long… which is exactly what you want when escaping
reality, but I think I just really missed our puppies. It’s so hard to get a new pup and then have
to leave him with your parents a week later.
I can’t wait to smoosh his face into mine.

Anyway, it’s back to reality (and the puppies) we go today. I forgot for a minute that it was
Christmas-time here in the Bahamas, so to help me get back into the Christmas
spirit, today I wanted to share with you this fun holiday look. This gold sequin blazer is going to be a core
staple of mine. The sequins add a fun
element to such a classic piece (and you can’t beat the price either).

And in other news, I wanted to do another installment of “three things you
don’t know about me,” …so here it goes.

THREE THINGS YOU DON’T KNOW ABOUT ME:

1. My favorite color is white.
Technically a non-color, but I find that it’s the most flattering on my
skin tone, and for that reason, you will more often than not catch me wearing
it. You probably could have guessed this
too if you have seen any photos of our home on my Instagram (you can search the
hashtag #darlingathome).

2. I am totally that person that makes up scenarios in my head and re-enacts
them in the mirror when getting ready in the morning. Someone being mean or pissing me off? You bet your sweet a** that I will be
reciting the perfect little feisty comeback that never actually got to take
place… hand gestures, head swivels and all.
Asking me to marry you all over again?
I may just start tearing up… in the mirror… to myself… when no one is
around… and it’s not even really happening.
I guess I just never really stopped playing “make believe.”

3. I can’t remember if I have told you guys this one or not… but I have a
little routine that I do every morning.
That’s right, every morning.
First, I turn off the shower and put my right foot under the faucet and
let it drip on top of my foot as I recite “good luck” three times and then wish myself luck on whatever I want positive
vibes on that day. Then I get out of the
shower, toweling off in the same sequence, without drying that foot. You guys, I know I am a total weirdo and
apparently a superstitious freak… but I have been doing it since middle school
and I love it because it forces me to take a moment to focus on my goals for
that day.
