Happy Monday. I hope you all had a fabulous weekend. I realized how pasty white I am and decided to try and catch some rays out on the golf course and by the pool yesterday.
Anyway, on Saturday I popped into our local Neiman Marcus at Scottsdale Fashion Square to make some selects for the models to wear in their CUSP Spring Event on Friday, March 20th.
This was one of the outfits I put together and fell in love with but ultimately it didn’t make the cut for the fashion show because I secretly want to wear it for myself haha (selfish me)!
But I just adore this
– although it’s a bit pricey and something I normally wouldn’t have considered since I personally love to save up for nice shoes or a purse – once I tried it on (and fell in love with it), I realized just how much use it would get! It really is an amazing staple piece. And quite frankly… the older I get, the more I realize that I don’t mind spending more on staples. With fast fashion houses popping up like fireworks – like Zara & h&m – trendy items are more affordable and accessible than ever, which really helps and allows you to save your hard-earned-cash for those great staples that you can build your wardrobe base with. Each of these pieces here are great staple items – from these black peep toe booties to the white silk blouse. So definitely start thinking on how you want to build your wardrobe and consider what staple items you’re missing.
PS, if you’re a local Arizonian and are free on Friday the 20th you should definitely plan on attending the CUSP Event. Sips and snacks start at 1pm and the fashion presentation and Q&A with the panel (which includes yours truly) will begin at 2pm. Be sure to RSVP to [email protected] to reserve your spot!
