The older I get the more I understand the vital importance of hydrating your skin.  The benefits won’t just be visible today, but will be visible in the years to come.  Moisture not only locks in the water and smooths rough and flaking skin, but hydrated skin can turnover fresh cells faster, which means huge anti-aging benefits… and who doesn’t want to look young longer?  It makes moisturizing a no-brainer (you’d think I wouldn’t have to continually convince Ben to use one every morning… crazy boys).

Anyway, I recently tried out Biossance, a patented plant-derived moisturizer that replenishes your skin by using moisturizers that are found naturally in your body, one of which is squalane which locks in essential moisture (and is considered one of the worlds best emollients).  What I love about this product is that it has multiple uses: you can use it by applying 2-3 drops directly to your skin after cleansing, or as a booster for your moisturizer and makeup, on your cuticles or as a hair serum to tame fly-aways and smooth strands.  I am all for making the most of a beneficial product.

I have been using this product for the past two weeks by adding a few drops to my daily moisturizer on my neck, chest, arms and legs and have seen really great results.  My skin has felt super soft and smooth lately, despite the Summer temps rising here in the hot, dry Arizona desert.  I have also been putting a small amount on my hair once it’s styled to tame fly-aways and it has definitely done the trick to keep my fine, static-y hair in place.  So give this product a go if you’re looking for a new way to add some moisture to your beauty routine.

How do you guys like to keep your skin and hair hydrated?
