I have always loved escaping into a good book.  I learned to read on the magically classic Six by Suess and I was so fascinated with his quick-witted rhyme and whimsy (that must be where I get it, guys).  Haha just kidding, but that was the first time I fell in love with reading.

I truly believe that we all need a good escape every now and then – and reading gives you just that, without ever having to leave anywhere but your own mind.

So today, I thought I would highlight the importance of escaping into a book and share with you some of my personal all-time favorites:

My number one favorite book that takes me to a whole other time and world is The Alchemist.  If you haven’t picked up this book, it’s an absolute must… it’s about following your dreams and finding your destiny.

I have always also had a deep love and appreciation for Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.  To me, it’s a dream about the trials and tribulations of growing up (or, I guess, down). It’s utterly nonsensical and adventurous, but don’t you know, “we’re all mad here.”

While the movie was great, the book, The Count of Monte Cristo, was better (isn’t that always the case?). I have a weird fascination with this time period – it takes place in post-revolutionary France – and provides a historical element drawn from real events.  And there are so many interesting characters, many very different from those portrayed in the movie.  The book is exciting and engaging and is about taking matters (and justice) into your own hands, and, more importantly, of forgiveness and letting go.  I read this book while I was living in Spain and it just felt like I was there.

What are some of your all-time favorite books?

Thank you for visiting.  Have a fabulous day, and I will leave you with this…

If you can read, you won’t ever have to be lonely.
