One of my biggest regrets from my "youth" is not taking care of my skin. Late nights, a bad diet and lots of wine (and other spirits) deprived my skin of the hydration and nourishment it needed to get that natural healthy glow. Now that I am older, and, (hopefully) wiser, my skincare mantra is: hydrate, nourish and firm. And while I still enjoy the occasional one or all of the above bad habits, my hope is that I can repair some of the damage. You know, like when you eat that extra cookie and then feel like you need to spend an extra ten minutes on the treadmill... it's kind of like that. But at least I am being more proactive about my skin - and that's the first step in recovery my friends.
So to get down to it, I wanted to share some of my new favorite products for aiding in said skin recovery. First, during the Nordstrom sale last year, I purchased both the Age Arrest Anti-Wrinkle Cream and Eye Cream by Kate Somerville skincare. I fell in love with them as my dehydrated skin seemed to miraculously firm and tighten overnight. Adios crows feet haha.
So to say that I wanted more of a good thing would be an understatement. I went on to get more of the hydrating essentials, including the Goat Milk Moisturizing Cream, the 'Quench' Hydrating Serum and the Dilo Oil Restorative Treatment Oil for a deep hydration and skin replenishment. I also picked up the 'DermalQuench Liquid Lift' Advanced Wrinkle Treatment for an extra anti-aging boost and the 'ExfoliKate' Intensive Exfoliating Treatment to remove dirt and grind to allow my products to nourish my skin.
After trying these products for a few weeks, so far so good. My skin feels great! And the added microneedling sessions I have been adding on at Dr. Shaw's here in Scottsdale has also helped a ton. I've been snapping about that (dashofdarling) but if you guys want to know more, leave it in the comments below and I'd be happy to do a blog post about it.
If you want to know even more about my skincare regimen, head over to The Newsette to learn more about my nighttime routine. I am also including some of my favorite evening products so definitely check it out!
