Ok so today I am excited to share with you guys a little recap of my week I spent in Austin, Texas for SXSW with Nine West and Nylon Magazine! I can’t even tell you how much fun I had… Austin is seriously the coolest city and it totally jived with my personality. I could definitely see myself living there (someday). I love all the cool coffee shops, trendy restaurants and there are so many cool walls – it would be the perfect place for a blogger to live haha. Not to mention one of my best girlfriends just moved there so it would be so fun to be there too. Buuuuut, I am definitely only dreaming because there are no plans in our near future to move. Plus we love being near my family that lives here in AZ.
Anyway, back to the story. I was lucky enough that I got to bring my dear friend Kate along with me for the ride. To be honest I have social anxiety and get super nervous going into new / unfamiliar situations by myself. If I have a friend (or my hubby) there I always feel 100% more comfortable – and this trip was no exception. But we had a blast walking, sweating and eating our way though the city. Not to mention listening to all the rad new emerging bands.
I wore my Nine West Fringe Tassle Suede Booties for the majority of the trip, as you can tell. They are super comfortable and I love the boho-vibe that they have. While I am a crazy hat fan (if you couldn’t already tell) and usually bring several styles with me on vacation (and this was the perfect occasion to rock a good hat), I only brought the one Tan Felt Fedora because it seriously went perfect with my booties.
Anyway, as for the city… there were so many places I wanted to try and a few of you had recommended on Instagram. But alas, the trip was short and I was only able to squeeze in a few. However, everything I tried I loved – from Hillside Pharmacy (for breakfast) to Perlas Seafood (for lunch), Toms and Jo’s (for coffee) and Benjis Cantina (for dinner). Everything was so yummy… so if you’re headed that way anytime soon I definitely recommend all.
