Yesterday I started packing for my upcoming adventure with Nine West to
Austin, Texas for
(South by Southwest) – the annual music, film, and interactive
conference. This is my first time attending and also my first time to Austin so I am super excited to explore and experience all of the fun. Because I’ve never been, I had to figure out what the weather was like before I could begin packing. It seems like layering will be my best
friend this trip as temperatures are warm and sunny by day, but cooler by night. So I started from the base up with some festival-worthy footwear. Most of the shows are apparently indoors, which gives you a little
more leeway when it comes to footwear… but comfort is definitely still
key. Thus, I packed two of my favorite pairs of
shoes to mix and
match. First, wedges are a must… with long days on your feet I wanted something
practical but still stylish enough for the events and parties I will be attending. I also loved the tassel on the side of this pair as it gives them a festival feel. They go great with a pair of denim
shorts and a long colorful kimono. For the evening parties where less walking and standing is involved I chose a dressier peep toe bootie, which would go great with a jumpsuit or romper and some bold jewelry.
Festivals are a lot of fun, but you need to make sure you
are prepared in order to ensure you have the best time. I’ve learned from
experience that it is better to be over prepared than under. Having all of the
festival essentials is important to stay safe and comfortable…. so if you’re heading to one any time soon be sure
to pack a high SPF sunscreen (it’s Texas), a few pairs of sunglasses, a jacket in case it
gets cold at night and a hat if you’ll be outside all day. Oh yeah, and don’t forget your phone charger or a mophie if you have one.
