As you guys saw on my Instagram and Snapchat (dashofdarling), this past week I embraced endured the cold for NYFW. And man-oh-man was it ever (um, hello -25 wind chills). But getting bundled up is something I don't get to do too often here in Arizona, and I had fun taking some time to explore a bit more of New York.
While attending, I wore this stripe pencil dress, which was perfect for the occasion because it's super chic, yet amazingly comfortable (a must for me when it comes to NYFW). There is nothing worse than running around the city all day feeling self-conscious or constricted. I think the cut and thin stripes on this ribbed midi dress are also really flattering.
I paired the look with this amazing suede trench coat, which is on sale for 40% off by the way, and I love how the two compliment one another by bringing out the rich tones in each. For added warmth, I threw on this incredibly soft fur vest (which is also on sale... and a really versatile piece to add to your closet).
After a few days of the NYFW madness, I decided to play hooky from my afternoon shows, presentations and meetings and just explore and have fun. Every now and then a girl's just gotta unwind and have fun.
To warm up from the cold, breezy wind, we ducked into Ralph's Coffee for some hot chocolate and the yummiest salted chocolate chip cookies on our way to the Met. Ralph's is a really cute spot tucked inside the Ralph Lauren overlooking 5th Ave. Grab a coffee or do some shopping and head over to the museum.
Once inside, we beelined it to my favorite section, the European Paintings. I've always been infatuated with the renaissance era and it's fun to wander through the different periods room-by-room.
