Ohhhhh Mexico, it sounds so simple I just got to go. The sun's so hot, I forgot to go home. Name that song. Yup, you got it... James Taylor is my jam haha. But honestly, Akumal, Mexico is my favorite. You may remember when I posted about it here? I haven't been able to go in forever because of Zika so I was excited to finally have the chance to get down there again. It's been a hot minute since I had my last beach vacation and I pretty much spent half a day packing for our trip. One, I was that excited. And two, I had forgotten my beach vacation essentials.
But there are a few things that are a must when it comes to your beach vacation.
A Wide Brim Hat
First, a good wide brim straw hat is an essential - both for keeping the sun off your face and for major style points. I love this one from Lack of Color. To keep its shape while traveling, I like to either wear it on the airplane or stuff the inside with items like socks and then pack items around the brim.
An eye-popping swimsuit
I am all for a fun, eye-popping swimsuit that shines against those gorgeous turquoise waters. I love this one because it's playful and flattering but also family friendly, if ya catch my drift. This mama can't pull off those Brazillian bum bum's no more haha.
A good beach tote
A Hydrating Lip Balm
Speaking of lip balm, my lips can get so dry from the sun, salt and wind that a good lip balm is one of my absolute must-have beach vacation essentials. I recently tried EOS' Organic Sticks and I like how its formula is enriched with nourishing organic oils, shea butter, and fruit extracts - it hydrates while enhancing your lips natural beauty. Which, who wants to look like they're wearing makeup while at the beach?! Not me.
A wrinkle-proof cover up
I don't know about you but I end up throwing my cover-ups everywhere... from my beach bag to the floor. So a cute cover-up that happens to be wrinkle-proof is another one of my must-have beach vacation essentials.
