We truly had the best summer of our lives. Being a parent is next level, you guys. It's like I joined this club that everyone had always told me about but you don't realize how incredible it is until you're in it! Anyway, enough gushing about mom-hood. I wanted to tell you about our Park City summer.
We wen't home to Park City for the summer and had so much fun. It's like our version of summer camp. The mountains, the grass, family, fresh air... the best. Typically I go home for the month of July but once I got back to the Arizona heat, Luna and I decided to turn around and go right back for another three weeks haha. Ben sadly had to stay in Arizona all summer but he flew in every Friday night and back out Monday mornings - so at least we got to spend quality time together. It sucks to be away from each other but Arizona in the summer is miserable and there's nothing to do. Luna loved it so much and that made it all worth it.
Every morning I would usually wake up and head to Orangetheory Fitness at the junction with my Mom while Luna slept under Grandpa's watch. We'd stop for coffee (Starbucks, Atticus, Silver King, Ritual Chocolate or Stoked Roasters are all good) on our way home and then grab the Moon out of bed for breakfast. If we ate at home it was usually fruit and oatmeal or egg-free pancakes or we'd go out (Eating Establishment, The Bridge Cafe, or Deer Valley Grocery).
After Luna's first nap we'd usually grab lunch, go shopping (Flight Boutique, Cake, Root'd and Lululemon on Main Street are my faves) or go on a hike.
If you're looking for lunch I love Cafe Terigo, High West Distillery, Glitretind at Stein Eriksen's, Royal Street Cafe and Back Door Deli).
During Luna's second nap I'd try to get out on our horses with my Dad or Ben was he was in town while Grandma watched over our babe. Our horses and the trails behind our house is my happy place. When I was a kid I loved going on rides to get my "thinking" done haha. It's how I decided on where to go to college, if I loved a boy or not (usually not haha) and where I wanted to go in life. Horses are my spirit animal. One of my favorite animals (horses and elephants are my fave).
This summer Luna got so good at climbing stairs, walking around my parents house with her cart, and saying 'mama' and 'dada' all over the place and discovered her love of cheese (can ya blame her?!) haha. Gosh I love my little cutie.
We can't wait to go back home for the holidays and be with family.
